First Easter with family
David Anthony Olguin will be celebrating his first Easter with his parents.
David was born Dec. 19, 2006 in Clovis. He weighed six pounds, seven ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. His parents are Tony and Rosalee Olguin of Tucumcari. His grandparents are Bern and Rose Arellano of Tucumcari and Earl Thomas and Mary Jane Anderson of Clovis. David’s godparents and aunt and uncle are Patrick and Carolee Arellano of Tucumcari.

Heading to the Apple
Members of San Jon Schools club, the Business Professionals of America, worked Friday picking up mesquites at Tom Evans’ ranch to raise money for a trip to New York City. Eight members of the club qualified to attend the national BPA meeting by winning regional and state competitions. They are working to raise $13,000 to make the trip. So far, they’ve raised $7,250. From left are Keely Goodgame, Tyce Foster, Danny Shetter, Rodney Mayfield, Lisa Chesher, Carol Goodgame and Rana Gibson.

Skier’s sportsmanship
In a competition that brought together 160 of the nation’s top skiers in the 11-13 age bracket, Red River Ski team racer Kathryn Bowen won the Sportsmanship Award, according to the web site for the 2007 Chevrolet Rocky/Central J4 Junior Olympics.  Bowen placed 18th and 24th in the slalom, 37th in the super G and 20th and 49th in the giant slalom.  Kathryn is a student at Tucumcari Middle School and will continue to train this summer in Colorado and Oregon. Her parents are Keith and Sandy Bowen.

Celebrating No. 4
Melisa Cheyenne White of Amarillo will celebrate her 4th birthday on Sunday. She will celebrate her birthday with her father Brian White of Amarillo, cousins Brandi Kingston and Brianna Donovan of Tucumcari, grandmother Bobbie White, great grand parents Bob and Estella White, aunt Lisa Olsen all of Tucumcari and Aunt Kristine Olsen of Dalhart. Her mother Lindsey Loomis of Minot, N.D.. sends her best wishes.
