04-25-2007: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department, during the last few days. According to reports:

Friday
• At 2:40 p.m., a female reported a wanted subject at the DWI office on South Third Street. One female subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center for an outstanding Magistrate Court warrant.

Saturday
• At 12:40 a.m., a female reported suspicious activity on South Adams Street. An officer was told that two male subjects kept looking inside of a truck parked across the street. The officer advised that all was OK. One of the subjects was the owner of the vehicle.
• At 11:19 a.m., a male reported a wanted subject at a residence on West Hines Street. One female subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
• At 5:35 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on South First Street. One female juvenile was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. The juvenile was then released to her parents.

Sunday
• At 12:51 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on East I-40. One male subject was arrested for an outstanding Magistrate Court warrant for failure to appear.
• At 4:29 p.m., an officer served a probation arrest order at a residence on West Campbell Street. One subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center for violation of probation.
• At 9:08 p.m., a female reported a theft on South Third Street. An officer was told that a car stereo had been taken from a vehicle. An investigation is under way

Monday
• At 1:15 p.m., a female reported a theft at the bus barn on Fifth Street. An officer advised that three vehicle batteries had been taken and 20 gallons of fuel. An investigation is under way.
• At 3:30 p.m., a female reported vandalism on East Hines Street. An officer advised that the passenger window of a vehicle had been broken.
• At 8:43 p.m., a male reported shots fired on South Dawson Street. Officers patrolled the area and advised that all was OK.
• At 10:32 p.m., a female reported an unwanted subject at her residence on East Turner Street. An officer was told that a male subject would not leave when asked. The officer advised that the subject was gone upon arrival.

Tuesday
• At 1:13 a.m., a male reported shots fired on East Barnes Street. Officers patrolled the area and advised that all was secure and no one was in the area.
• At 2 a.m., a male reported a disturbance at a motel on South First Street. An officer was told that a female subject was knocking on the door and yelling. The officer was told by the motel desk clerk that the female had left before they arrived. The officer advised they would patrol the area to see if she returned.
