Oma Jane Harlan

Services: 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church Chapel in Amarillo.

Oma Jane Harlan, 64, of Amarillo, died Friday, June 29, 2007.

Mrs. Harlan was born on Sept. 8, 1942 in Beaumont, Texas, to Roland and Rubimae Torrance. She had been the receptionist at Nunn Electric for over 25 years. She was a member of the Sanctuary and Heritage Choirs at First Baptist Church.

She married Kenneth Harlan on August 6, 1964 in Atlanta, Ga. Before moving to Amarillo, Mrs. Harlan lived in Tucumcari between 15 and 20 years.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Harlan of Amarillo; son, Bart Harlan of Haltom City, Texas; daughter, Sandra (Joe) Rose and of Coleman, Texas; her mother, Rubimae Torrance of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Susan Torrance of Austin, Texas, and Lyn Kiel of Merritt Island, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Hannah Rose and Natalee Rose, both of Coleman.

The family suggests memorials be made to Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79105 or a favorite charity.
Oficiating at the service is Robbie Barrett, education minister of First Baptist.
