Pre-holiday weekend…
Officials in Logan said that it was a good weekend despite the lower number of visitors.
“There was only one DWI arrest made by our officers and most of the problems were resolved just by our presence,” said Village of Logan’s officer in charge Bob Gore.
“I’d estimate that there were half as many people here as last year. All and all it was a smooth weekend for us,” Gore said.
The Ute Lake State parks did not have as many visitors as it did last year, said park superintendent Rodney Paris. “Although the visitor count has not been completed yet we are certain that we had less visitors then last year,” said Paris
The New Mexico State Police had three DWIs in the district: One in Logan, one in Clovis and one in Conchas over the weekend, said state police Capt. Daniel Lopez. There were five arrests for warrants or driving while a license is suspended, four accidents with injuries and four accidents without injuries worked by our department and several minors in possessions were issued, said Lopez.
