One person was killed and two injured in a rollover on State Highway 104, said San Miguel County under sheriff Joe Robert Urban.

At 5 p.m., Sunday, 20-year-old Adam J. Ortiz of Ribera over corrected for an unknown reason while driving a 1996 GMC SUV and rolled the vehicle at mile marker 64 on State Highway 104, said Urban. The driver and two passengers Hilario Salinas (21) and Francisco Garcia (20) were ejected from the vehicle during the rollover, Urban said. Garcia was pronounced dead on the scene, Ortiz was transported by ambulance to the Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital and Salinas was transported to Albuquerque, said Urban.

Alcohol was not involved in the accident, said Urban.

A second non-fatal rollover occurred in Tucumcari Monday afternoon.

Four people were injured and taken to the Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital after a vehicle ran a red light causing a rollover, said Cpl. Darrick Shaw of the Tucumcari Police.

The accident occurred at the intersection of South Mountain Road and East Tucumcari Boulevard and involved three vehicles, said Shaw. Willam Massa of Alamogordo was traveling South on U.S. 54 in a Ford mini-van, said Tucumcari patrolman Clay Huffman. Massa ran a red light and was hit on the side by an Chevy SUV driven by Daniel Gonzales of Albuquerque causing the mini-van to roll and strike a Chevy truck driven by Paul Kohman of Rio Rancho that was stopped at red light on north bound 54, said Huffman. Massa was cited for failure to stop at a red light, Huffman said.
