Services: 2:30 p.m. Thursday a memorial service will be held at Center Street United Methodist Church in Tucumcari.
Sarah E. “Pat” Pickett, 90, died Saturday, July 7, 2007 in Tucumcari.
Mrs. Pickett was born July 8, 1916 in Mount Pulaski, Ill. to John and Lula Mae Glasco. She married Clay Pickett in 1941. They engaged in farming for 35 years in Elkhart, Ill. She was employed for the Lincoln Development Center for several years until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Middletown, Ill. She moved to Tucumcari in 1999 to be with her sister Tommy Proffitt who preceded her in death.
Surviving Mrs. Pickett is her stepdaughter, Erma Covey of Springfield, Ill. Her brother, Mark Glasco of Lakeland, Fla. , her sister, June (Gene) Irwin of Newton, Kan., a grandson, David (Beth) Hart and three great-grandchildren of Cincinnati, nieces and nephews, including Donna (Bobby) Dominguez, of Tucumcari, who she lived with during the last months of her illness and Johnny (Loretta) Proffitt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a step son, Jack, and a sister Bonnier Eskew of Springfield, Ill.
Tom Broom will officiate at the services at United Methodist. Following her wishes, Mrs. Pickett has been cremated. Her cremains will be buried with her husband, Clay, in Lincoln, Ill.
The family suggests for those who wish, donations may be made to the Helping Hands Hospice in Tucumcari in memory of Sarah E. “Pat” Pickett.
