07-21-2007: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:

Monday
• At 4:45 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on South Seventh Street. One male subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center for a Magistrate Court warrant.
• At 6:07 p.m., a female reported a domestic dispute at a residence on North Chactow Street. An officer advised that it was a verbal argument only and one of the parties was going to stay at a different location for the night.
• At 7:05 p.m., a female reported a shoplifter at a retail store on West Route 66. An officer was told that a male subject had stolen a spool of weed eater thread valued at $5.99. The officer patrolled and advised the male subject was no longer in the area.
• At 11:52 p.m., an alarm was reported at a fuel station on East Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer advised that all was OK and the building was secure.

Tuesday
• At 12:14 p.m., a female reported a domestic dispute at a residence on East High Street. An officer advised that it was a verbal argument and the problem had been resolved.
• At 12:31 p.m., a female reported a theft at a motel on South First Street. An officer was told that a DVD/VCR player had been stolen from the conference room.
• At 2:19 p.m., a female reported vandalism at a residence on South Dawson. An officer advised four tires on a vehicle had been slashed and that the owner requested a special watch on the vehicle.
• At 3:58 p.m., a female reported a burglary on East Turner Street. An officer advised that a CD player had been stolen from a vehicle.
• At 11:51 p.m., a female reported a domestic dispute at a residence on South Monroe. An officer advised it was a verbal argument between a male and female subjects and the female subject was going to stay at a friend’s for the night.

Wednesday
• At 12:30 a.m., a male reported an unwanted subject at a motel on South First Street. One male subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center on the charge of disorderly conduct.
• At 10:20 a.m., an officer requested a warrant check on a subject stopped on South Third Street. The dispatch told the officer the male subject had two outstanding Magistrate Court warrants for failure to pay fines and failure to appear. The subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center.

Thursday
• At 7:04 a.m., a female reported vandalism at a residence on South Seventh Street. An officer advised that the tires on a vehicle had been slashed and a second vehicle’s paint had been scratched up with an unknown object.
