07-25-2007: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:

Friday
• At 7:02 a.m., a male reported a burglary on East Rankin Street. An officer advised that a window on a vehicle had been broken out and tools were stolen from the truck.
• At 10:06 a.m., a female reported a burglary at the school central office on South Eighth Street. An officer was told that seven laptops had been stolen. An investigation is under way.
• At 1:31 p.m., a male reported vandalism at a residence on South Fourth Street. An officer advised that the side of a vehicle had been spray painted.
• At 4:50 p.m., a female reported a burglary on South Mountain Road. An officer was told that 14 chains, a winder, straps and two tarps were stolen. The value of the stolen items is $2,040, the report stated.

Saturday
• At 11:23 a.m., a female reported a burglary on South Lake Street. An officer advised that a weed eater and a riding lawn mower were taken from a shed.
• At 4:41 p.m., an officer served a warrant at the emergency room on South First Street. One female subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center for outstanding Magistrate Court warrants.

Sunday
• At 5:26 a.m., an alarm was reported at a lounge on West Route 66. An officer advised that all was OK that an employee had set off the alarm.
• At 2:50 p.m., an alarm was reported at the high school on South Seventh Street. An officer advised all was OK and the building was secure.
• At 6:42 p.m., a male reported a domestic dispute on West High Street. One female subject was arrested for battery on a household member, possession of controlled substance and paraphernalia.
• At 9:23 p.m., a female reported a possible fight at an apartment on South Eighth Street. A male subject was arrested for two outstanding Magistrate Court warrants.

Monday
• At 12:03 p.m., an officer served a warrant at a motel on South First Street. A male subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center for warrants out of Bernalillo County.
• At 4:02 p.m., an officer requested a warrant check on a male subject who was stopped by the officer on South First Street. The dispatcher told the officer the male subject had an outstanding Magistrate Court warrant for failure to comply. The male subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center.
