White to celebrate 90th at San Jon on Saturday
Cora White, who is turning 90 this week, is having a birthday party and you’re invited, said her family.
Events begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the San Jon Community Center.
The family says no presents just come and visit.
White worked for many years as a secretary for the state Highway Department at Tucumcari and San Jon.
She still lives in Bard on the farm and ranch that was homesteaded in the early 1900s by her parents Martenia and Edna Flint.

Nara Visa Old Timers gathering set for Sunday
Nara Visa Old Timers, as well as newcomers and all in between, are looking forward to the Nara Visa Old Timers Reunion on Sunday.
The gym at the Nara Visa Community Center will open at 10 a.m. (CST) for registrations. Everyone is encouraged to bring a covered dish.
Former graduates Sarah Stone and Bob White will be registering guests.
White will officiate at the event and ask the classes honored to introduce themselves. All graduates from 25 to 50 years ago will be asked to tell about the old days if they wish.
There will be prizes for the person who has traveled the greatest distance, the oldest man and woman, the person who has missed the fewest reunions and others.
