Tree and turfgrasses will be featured topics at the Annual Field Day sponsored by the New Mexico State University Agricultural Science Center at Tucumcari.
The featured speaker will be Lowell Catlett, regents professor and dean and chief administrator officer of the College of Agriculture and Home Economics, NMSU at Las Cruces.
Attendees also will get an opportunity to tour the center’s special projects. Topics and speakers include: Holding Pond and Pivot Irrigation System Development, Rex Kirksey, superintendent, NMSU Ag Science Center at Tucumcari.
On-Farm Irrigation Efficiency, Phil King, associate professor and associate department head, Department of Civil Engineering, NMSU, Las Cruces.
Teff Grass for Hay Production, Leonard Lauriault, forage agronomist NMSU Ag Science Center at Tucumcari and Ultra-Short Season Crops, Sangu Angadi, crop physiologist NMSU Agricultural Science Center at Clovis.
The field day will also feature a Tree and Turfgrass Seminar and Tour which includes: the Eastern New Mexico Outdoor Arboretum, Leonard Lauriault, forage agronomist, a discussion of Turfgrass Irrigation and Species Selection by Bernhard Leinauer, Extension Turfgrass Specialist, NMSU, Las Cruces.
