Saturday patrol in Logan over holiday weekend
The Logan Police department will be working saturation patrol and concentrating on stopping underage drinking this holiday weekend, said senior patrol officer Wade Strand.
“There will be three officers patrolling this weekend to accommodate the holiday crowd,” said Strand. “We are expecting a good crowd turnout this Labor Day and will work with the State Police and the State Park Rangers to ensure a safe holiday.”

Holiday closings
Quay County and city offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day.
Post offices in Tucumcari, Logan, San Jon, Nara Visa, House and McAlister will be closed.
House schools will hold regular classes but Logan, San Jon and Tucumcari will have no classes on Monday.
Wells Fargo, Citizens Bank, Everyone’s Federal Credit Union and First National Bank of New Mexico will be closed on Monday.

Special meeting of Quay County Gaming Authority
The Quay County Gaming Authority will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the Nara Visa Room of the Tucumcari Convention Center. The meeting is open to the public and is invited to attend.
Among the items on the agenda are:
• Discussion of modifications to ownership structure of racetrack/casino
• Consideration of architect bids
• Discussion of partial payment of feasibility study.
