Services: Between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. today, the family will receive friends at Sanders Funeral Home, Lubbock, Texas.
A memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at the First Baptist Church of Shallowater, Texas.
Marlin Brent McMenamy, 48, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at his home surrounded by his family after losing a battle with cancer.
Mr. McMenamy was born in Lubbock, Texas, to Elizabeth and Otis McMenamy on Feb 24, 1959. His family moved to Tucumcari in 1960 where McMenamy graduated from high school.
He worked in construction with his last employment being in Kosovo for three years and in Iraq for one year with Brown and Root Construction.
Mr. McMenamy is survived by a son and his fiancé, Cris McMenamy and Sara Robertson of Shallowater; Texas, a daughter and her husband, Tina and Brady Neighbors of Lubbock and a second daughter, Lacey McMenamy, also of Shallowater. He is also survived by his parents, Otis and Elizabeth of Shallowater; a sister and her husband, Teresa and Ken Barbe of Roswell, and a brother and his wife, Jerry and Denise McMenamy of Boynton Beach, Fla; as well as two nieces and two nephews and his grandmother, Bonnie Ashmore of Lubbock.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Lubbock or to a favorite charity.
Bruce Cotton and Gary Koerner will officiate.
Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Home of Lubbock.
