Logan candles remember 9/11

Members of the American Legion Post 77 in Logan honored and remembered the fallen of 9/11 on the sixth anniversary of terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C.

Legion members, EMS crews, firefighters and police officers gathered at American Legion Post 77 in Logan Tuesday night to remember those who perished in the attack against the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

“It is very important that we honor those fallen heroes and our own emergency personnel,” said Legion Post 77 Commander Archie Lard.
Following a dinner meal at Post 77, there were slide show presentations on the events of 9/11/01 by Lard and Brenda Babb. Then attendees processed in a candlelight walk from the Legion building to downtown Logan.

“Today is about heroes and people who are fighting for our freedom,” said five-year-old Mesa Modisette.
