Air show in the skies today

The 15th annual Tucumcari Rotary Club Air Show takes flight today at the Tucumcari Municipal Airport.

The gates will open at 10 a.m. for people to visit 40 aircraft on display.

The air show will begin at 1:15 p.m. Exact times of the attractions will be announced at showtime.

There will be two new attractions this year which are a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and the “Star Raider” rocket, a car powered by twin Rolls Royce Viper Engines.

The grand finale will be the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds.

l Heritage Days ACC West Coast A-10 demo team and “Glacier Girl” (restored Lockheed P-38 Lightning).
