Trip set for Zebra Ranch
The Tucumcari Historical Research Institute will have a field trip for its members to the Zebra Ranch between Roy and Wagon Mound on Oct. 5.
The group will leave the museum at 416 S. Adams at 8 a.m. Bring a picnic lunch. Cars can make the trip. If you are not a member, you can join by paying your dues at the Museum of $10 per person or $20 per family.
Small Business Center has new director
Mesalands Community College has appointed a new director for the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), according to a press release. He is Carl Kallansrud who comes to the post from Denver, Colorado.
Kallansrud brings experience in business program design, marketing, and administration, with emphasis on starting a business, succession-exit plans, and practical solutions to problems.
Some of the clients he has served include QWEST, US Postal Service, STROW Industries, Denver Data Systems, and various Denver area businesses.
He has also worked in various administrative and educational capacities for institutions of higher learning and industry.
Kallansrud served in the U.S. Air Force were he attained the rank of Captain. He has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Denver, Denver, CO and a Master Practitioner Certificate, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, from NLP Comprehensive, Boulder, CO.
“I look forward to working with the people and businesses in northeastern New Mexico, and in an area that has so much growth potential,” said Kallansrud in the release.
Kallansrud replaces David Buchen who is now the executive director of Tucumcari’s MainStreet project.
