Newsletter for diabetics…
The Quay County Extension service is developing its own newsletter geared to Quay County families who have family member with diabetes. “Living Well with Diabetes” will be published four times a year. This is a free newsletter. The first issue will come out this month. To receive your copy from the extension office, call 461-0562.

Today’s a first for Aidyn…
Aidyn Aaron McKinney is celebrating his first birthday today. He is the son of McKayla McKinney and Cruz Elebario of Tucumcari. His grandparents are Aaron and Suzy Mckinney and Frances and Frank Elebario of Tucumcari. He is the nephew of Javier Elebario, Misty McKinney and Megan Mckinney of Tucumcari. His great-grandparents include Roy and Brenda McKinney, Chip and Charlotte Lafond of Tucumcari and Jerry and Verna Henson of Rio Rancho, Raymond and Linda Trujillo, Celina Elebario, and J.D. and Mary Elebario of Tucumcari. He is also the great-great-grandson of Ruby Henson of Albuquerque, Julia Elebario of Tucumcari and Gloria Quintana of Albuquerque.

Sours role of FAA leader…
Brandon Sours, a 2007 graduate of Tucumcari High School, and a member of the Tucumcari FFA Chapter, is pictured with other FAA officers and President Bush. Sours is currently serving as an executive officer for the New Mexico State FFA Organization while attending NMSU.
His duties for the FFA during the summer included presenting workshops for FFA members at the Western Regional States FFA Convention in Nevada, and at State FFA Camp in June in Torreon. Two members from each state met with Bush at the White House in July. He will also serve on committees at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis on Oct. 24-28 and present leadership workshops at 40 New Mexico schools during the year. Sours served as a page at the New Mexico Legislature last spring.
He is pursuing a degree in Agricultural Education and Communications through scholarship funding from: the National FFA Organization, Monsanto Corporation, Farmer’s Electric, Robert Harris Memorial Scholarship, ENMAR, Tucumcari Masonic Lodge, NMSU, Quay County Livestock Bureau, Farm Bureau, Expo New Mexico, Rod David Memorial Scholarship Fund, Quay County Lamb Breeders, Pioneer Hybrid Seed, and New Mexico Seed Producers.
Sours is the son of Doug and Glenda Sours and the brother of Kandy Hutchins, who are all Quay County agricultural teachers.
