Six Shooter Siding Festival, marriages, birthdays

Ready: Six Shooter Fest…
The first Six Shooter Siding Festival hosted by Tucumcari’s Main Street will begin on Saturday at 10 a.m.
The National Guard will open the festival with a color guard and a prayer for servicemen and women. The local VFW and VFW chaplain will have a short prayer service.
Then look for the Quay County Extension office’s Pecan Bake-off. It will be judged by a number of community members with unique taste buds to find the best recipes that include pecans.
And, if sports are your passion, items autographed by Bears No. 54 Brian Urlacker will given away to some lucky attendees. Take a chance on a ticket and see if you can be one of the lucky winners. Local autos will be on display as well.
There also will be plenty of activities for children including sidewalk art, cookie decorating, a bean bag dinosaur throw and more.
Entertainment will be provided from area groups: A talent show of local entertainers, gospel groups, bluegrass, Hispanic music starts at noon and the day’s finale will be a street dance from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Look for activities near the old Tucumcari Train Station.

Vows to be exchanged…

Vickie Stone and Frank Gutierrez, both of Logan, will be married at 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Logan Civic Center. All family and friends are invited to attend.
