10-17-2007: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:

l At 11:44 p.m., a female reported a possible fight on South Third Street. An officer patrolled the area and advised that there was no one in the area.

l At 11:56 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on South Rock Island Street. The male driver was arrested for driving while his license was suspended.
l At 5:05 p.m., a male reported a gas skip at a fuel station on South First Street. The cashier provided a description of the vehicle and the officer advised that the vehicle could not be located.

l At 1:46 a.m., a female reported a disturbance on South Park Street. An officer made contact with three subjects and advised them to leave the area.
l At 1:01 p.m., a female reported possible shots fired at a restaurant on West Route 66. An officer was told by the female that the sound of a gun came from a vehicle that ahad driven by. The officer located the vehicle and confiscated a cap gun and a knife from two male juveniles.
l At 2:37 p.m., a female reported a snake in her residence on Quay Road 63. An officer advised that there were two snakes removed from the home.
l At 5:57 p.m., an anonymous caller reported three suspicious subjects on South Ninth Street. An officer was told that three subjects with guns were walking down the street. The officer advised that all was OK. The three subjects were carrying paint ball guns and had been playing outside city limits.
l At 7:45 p.m., a male reported a fight on South Fourth Street. An officer advised that one of the parties had left the area prior to their arrival. The victim filled out a statement.

l At 8:05 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on South Ninth Street. One male subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center for an outstanding warrant from Guadalupe County.
l At 9:41 a.m., a male reported vandalism on South Eighth Street. An officer advised that the windshield of a vehicle had been broken out and the hood of the vehicle had been dented.
