10-31-2007: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:

Friday
l At 10:23 p.m., a female reported a theft at a retail business on West Tucumcari Boulevard. One male subject was arrested for shoplifting and taken to the Quay County Detention Center.

Saturday
l At 8:45 a.m., a male reported vandalism on South Third Street. An officer advised that a rear tire of a vehicle had been slashed.
l At 5:59 p.m., a New Mexico State Police officer requested assistance from an officer at South Sixth Street. One male subject was arrested for battery on a peace officer and resisting and evading an officer.
l At 11:55 p.m., an anonymous caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked at a hotel on South Adams Street. An officer was told that the vehicle had been parked there for several hours. The officer made contact with the driver of the vehicle and advised he was resting and would be moving on.

Sunday
l At 8:06 a.m., an officer reported being flagged down on East Aber Street. The officer was told about a vandalism incident on Aber Street. The officer advised that a vehicle’s windows had been shot with a BB gun.
l At 8:18 a.m., a female reported vandalism on East Heman Street. An officer advised that two windows on a vehicle had been shot with a BB gun.
l At 10:50 a.m., an alarm was reported at a restaurant on East Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer advised that all was OK the building was secure.
l At 3:20 p.m., an anonymous caller reported loud music on South Adams Street. An officer made contact with the residents and the music was turned down.

Monday
l At 2:57 p.m., a male reported an unwanted subject at the high school on South Seventh Street. An officer was told that a male subject was riding around the parking lot on a motor scooter and was not supposed to be on the property. The officer advised the subject had left the area.
l At 10:20 p.m., a female reported a theft at a fuel station on South Rock Island Street. An officer was told that two juveniles had taken four 30-packs of beer. The officer patrolled the area and looked at the security tapes.
l At 11:01 p.m., a male reported a burglary on South Mountain Road. An officer advised that a vehicle had been broken into and several items had been taken.

Tuesday
l At 1:10 a.m., a female reported loud music on North College Street. An officer made contact with the residents and advised them to turn down the music.
