Some of the evidence was missing, but a Tucumcari man has been charged with stealing two televisions, a video player, a barbecue grill and an apple pie.

Most of the items have been recovered, Tucumcari Police Lt. Patti Lopez said, but one television set is still missing and “half of the pie was eaten,” she said.

The burglary, from a residence on South Seventh Street, was reported at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The woman who lives at the home said she noticed a man walking up as she pulled into her driveway; the man turned away moments later, she said.

Police went to the man’s house and saw a barbecue grill sitting in the front room. Officers obtained a search warrant and recovered most of the stolen items early Thursday morning, according to a police press release.

Jesus Sena, 23, of Tucumcari, is charged with four counts of burglary, four counts of larceny and one count of receiving stolen property.
