Greyson Bollinger celebrated his first birthday on Nov. 3 at his home in Tucumcari. Helping him celebrate were his parents, Justin and Kerri Bollinger, and big brother, Garrett Bollinger. His grandparents are Darrel and Brenda Bollinger of Clovis, and Mona Rutter of Logan. His great-grandparents are Johnnie and Velma Bollinger of Clovis, and Joyce Brown of Levelland, Texas. Greyson was born Oct. 31, 2006 in Clovis.
Air Force retiree…
U.S. Air Force TS Robert M. Lindsey was honored with a retirement reception Friday at the Aloha Conference Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Lindsey, who is currently stationed at Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, has 20 years of active service with the U.S. Air Force.
Lindsey is the son of Frances Lindsey and the late Billie Lindsey of Tucumcari and the son in law of JoAnn Smith of Logan.
Nelda Smith’s pastel painting, The Enchanted Path, has been chosen to represent Pastel Society of New Mexico’s member’s art in the November issue of Southwest Art magazine.
Smith paints in acrylics, oils and pastels. Her work is currently on exhibit at the gallery at Eastern New Mexico Art Space and has been exhibited at The Sunset Gallery, and Remiel Gallery in Amarillo and she has been a featured artist at Barnes and Noble in Amarillo. Most of Smith’s recent paintings are produced in her studio, Colors of My Soul, at 205 S. Second St. in Tucumcari.
Smith’s favorite painting subjects are landscapes and animals. Her works are also in collections in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, California and Ohio.
She also has taught oil workshops at Wagon Wheel Gallery in Texhoma, Texas, and she volunteers to lead painting therapy sessions for residents at Autumn Blessings in Logan.
Smith has been active in helping establish Eastern New Mexico Art Space and is currently serving on its board. and is treasurer for the executive board.
Although Smith holds a part-time job with Canadian River Soil Conservation District, and is an accountant, Smith’s true love is her art.
Gallery hours at Art Space are 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
