County seeks committee on wolf recovery program
Quay County is seeking people to serve on a committee to help it stay informed on issues regarding the gray wolf recovery program.
The county has asked to be a cooperating agency in the scoping and the environmental impact statement regarding the rulemaking process on the Mexican Wolf Environmental Impact Statement from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Some area farmers and ranchers have said the wolf would have a negative impact on their livelihood in Quay and other counties in the recovery zone, an area that stretches from New Mexico to Arizona.
The committee is expected to have at least five members.
If you are interested in serving on the committee, contact Richard Primrose at 461-2112.
