12-26-2007: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:

Friday
l At 8:16 p.m., a male reported a hit and run on South First Street. The male subject told officers that a vehicle had struck a parked vehicle and left the scene. The male subject followed the other vehicle on South First Street. The officer located and stopped the vehicle and arrested the male driver for aggravated DWI and leaving the scene of an accident.

Saturday
l At 12:58 a.m., a male reported a fight at a lounge on East Main Street. An officer advised that it was a fight between two male subjects and both had left the area prior to the officer’s arrival.
l At 6:16 a.m., an alarm was reported at a restaurant on East Route 66. An officer advised that all was OK. The building was secure.
l At 9:48 a.m., an alarm was reported at a business on South Second Street. An officer advised the building was secure.
l At 6:01 p.m., a female reported a possible prowler at her residence on South Adams Street. An officer was told that someone was knocking on the back door. The officer advised that all was OK. There were no signs of anyone at the back door.
l At 7:24 p.m., a female reported a domestic dispute on East Rankin Street. An officer advised that all was OK. It was a verbal argument and one of the parties involved had left for the night.
l At 8:48 p.m., a female reported a domestic dispute on South Third Street. An officer advised that it was a verbal argument between a male and female. The male subject was going to leave for the night.
l At 8:55 p.m., a female reported a fight at a fuel station on East Highway 54. An officer advised the subject had left the station.

Sunday
l At 1:17 a.m., a dispatcher reported a 911 hang-up call from a residence on Mesquite Avenue. An officer made contact with the residents and advised that all was OK. There had been a verbal argument but the problem had been resolved.
l At 3:12 a.m., a female reported an unwanted subject at her residence on East McGee. An officer was told that a male subject would not leave when asked and that he was trying to start a fight with the female subject. The male subject left prior to the officer’s arrival.
l At 7:32 a.m., an alarm was reported at a restaurant on East Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer advised that the building was secure and all was OK.
l At 10:21 p.m., a female reported a suspicious vehicle on East Aber Street. An officer was told that a vehicle had been parked in front of a residence for some time and two people were still inside the car. The officer made contact with the subjects in the vehicle and advised that all was OK. The driver was visiting her sister who lived at the residence.
l At 11:11 p.m., a female reported a suspicious subject at an apartment on West Seventh Street. An officer was told that an unknown subject was knocking on the front doors of an apartments on the lower floor then leaving. The officer advised that all was OK and there was no subject in the area.
