Charges against Shane Vest of Logan were reduced after a second hearing this week in Quay County Magistrate Court, according to court documents.

Vest’s bond was dropped to $1,500 from $6,000 after the nine charges against him were reduced to three.

Vest is charged with a felony count of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana less then an ounce, said Logan Police Chief Bob Gore.

If convicted of all charges, Vest could face up to three years and six months in jail, Gore said.

Vest, 53, was arrested on Monday at the Arrowhead RV Park in Logan on charges involving marijuana, Gore said.

Vest’s arrest was the result of several months of investigation by the Logan Police Department, Gore said.

Officers obtained a search warrant and confiscated six ounces of marijuana, various drug paraphernalia and two firearms at Vest’s residence in the RV park, Gore said.
