Birthdays, anniversaries and science fair

Golden anniversary…
The children of Paul and Yolanda “Jolly” Chavez joined with friends and neighbors in the celebration of their parents’ 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 5 at the fellowship hall of the First Spanish Baptist Church in Tucumcari. Paul and Jolly were married 50 years ago in the First Baptist Church of Tucumcari.

First and counting…
Bryan Bueno will celebrate his first birthday on Tuesday. Bryan is the son of Mayra and Dago Bueno of Tucucmari. Bryan likes play with his football and to dance. Bryan is the grandson of Ramona and Juan Aceves of Tucumcari and Eleno and Celsa Bueno of Mexico.

Newly born…
Sydney Marie Ferguson was born Jan. 15 in West Fork, Ark. Sydney joins her brother, Grant, 8, and parents, Stacey and Robert Ferguson.
Dad is a 1982 Rattler alum. Sydney’s grandparents are Joyce Marie Warren of Texarkana, Ark., and Bo Warren of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and Susan Hamilton-Dick of Portales and Matthew H.P. Ferguson of Winchester, Ky. Sydney’s great-grandmother is the late Bettie Ditto, and Sydney takes the name Marie from Ditto’s mother, Marie Lins, and from her grandmother Warren, said her dad, Robert Ferguson.

Science fair…
The Tucumcari Middle School Science Fair was held on Wednesday. Of the 77 students who participated, the following were recognized for:

Food and Nutrition
