Notable Notes: Attorneys moving to Clovis, VFW Auxiliary supports Junior Girls, Through With Chew starts Feb. 17

Two prosecutors
moving to Clovis office
Two Tucumcari attorneys, Camille Pedrick Chavez and husband, Kirk Chavez, are leaving this month for jobs in Clovis.
They are going to work for the District Attorney’s office there, Camille Chavez said.
Camille Chavez was, for a time in private practice, and joined the DA’s office late last year.

VFW Auxiliary helped to launch girls chapter
VFW Post #2528 Ladies Auxiliary contributed funds to help launch one of New Mexico’s first “Junior Girls Unit” at Anthony, according to Kathleen E Lopez, president of the auxiliary.
Earlier this month, the VFW National president, Virginia Carman, helped to institute the Junior Girls Unit.
Carman is the first national president also to have served as Junior Girls president. Carman was greeted by Patricia Phistry, state president of the Department of New Mexico’s VFW Auxiliaries

Through With Chew week begins Feb. 17
Through With Chew Week will be Feb. 17 – 23, 2008 with the Great American Spit Out set for Feb. 21. The motto is: “Quit for a day or quit for good!”
