02-16-2008: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:

 Tuesday
l At 7:12 p.m., a male reported a larceny at a fuel station on South Rock Island Street. An officer was told that a customer had left his jacket at a booth while he went to the restroom and someone stole $5,000 from the pockets.

Wednesday
l At 12:56 p.m., a female reported vandalism on East Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer advised that a vehicle had a hole in the hood.
l At 1:22 p.m., an alarm was reported at a residence on South Eleventh Street. An officer advised that all was OK.The homeowner had accidentally set off the alarm.
l At 1:51 p.m., a female reported a possible shoplifter at a retail store on West Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer made contact with a male subject in the store and advised that all was OK; the subject had taken anything.
l At 7:12 p.m., a male reported a suspicious vehicle near a business on West Campbell Street. An officer located the vehicle and made contact with the driver. The officer advised that all was OK and that the driver would be moving on.
l At 11:55 p.m., a female reported a domestic dispute on Zuni Street. An officer advised that it was a domestic dispute between a male and a female subjects and that prior to their arrival the male subject had left.

Thursday
l At 2:13 a.m., a female reported harassment at a residence on South Monroe Street. The female subject told the officer that she was receiving phone calls from a male subject that were harassing. The officer advised that while they were there the male subject called and was advised not to call back.
l At 3:07 p.m., a male subject reported a burglary on South Eighth Street. An officer advised that some medication and a puppy were taken from the residence. The subject later contacted police to say the puppy had been returned but the medication was still missing.
l At 4:54 p.m., several callers reported loud music at a restaurant on South First Street. An officer made contact with the manager and advised them to turn down the volume.
