02-20-2008: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:

Sunday

• At 1:43 a.m., an officer conducted a routine traffic stop on West Route 66. One male subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center for driving while intoxicated.

• At 2:18 p.m., a female reported a panhandler in front of a restaurant on South First Street. An officer made contact with the subject and advised the subject to move on.

• At 5:31 p.m., a female reported a suspicious subject at a retail store on West Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer was told that a female subject was walking around the store intoxicated possibly taking pills. One female subject was issued a citation for possession of marijuana.

• At 8:21 p.m., a male reported vandalism on South Monroe Street. An officer advised that a window on a van had been broken out.

• 11:14 p.m., an anonymous caller reported a domestic dispute at a residence on East Turner Street. An officer advised that all was OK. It was a verbal argument and the subjects involved had separated for the night.

Monday

• At 8:58 p.m., a female reported an unwanted subject at a residence on East Aber Street. One male subject was arrested for assault on a household member.

• At 9:13 p.m., a male subject reported vandalism at a residence on West Laughlin Street. An officer advised that a brick had been thrown through a window of a residence.

• At 11:42 p.m., a female reported a possible prowler outside her residence on South Eighth Street. An officer advised that all was OK. No one was found around the residence.

Tuesday

• At 3:27 a.m., an anonymous caller reported a loud party at a motel on West Route 66. One male subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center for outstanding warrants.

• At 7:48 a.m., a male reported vandalism at a business office on East High Street. An officer advised that a window on a vehicle had been broken.

• At 11:30 a.m., a female reported a domestic dispute on East Turner Street. One male subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center for assault on a peace officer.

• At 12:18 p.m., a female reported a domestic dispute on South Fifth Street. An officer advised that all was OK. It was a verbal argument and the problem had been resolved.
