02-27-2008: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:

Friday
l At 10:18 p.m., an officer conducted a routine traffic stop on South Mountain Road. One male subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Santa Fe.
l At 11:08 p.m., an officer conducted a routine traffic stop on East Center Street. The officer advised that the driver of the had jumped out and ran from the scene. The driver was located an arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center for driving while intoxicated.
l At 11:17 p.m., an officer conducted a routine traffic stop on West Tucumcari Boulevard. One male subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Curry County.
l At 11:20 p.m., a male subject turned himself in at the police department on East Center Street. An officer arrested the male subject for an outstanding warrant out of Santa Fe.

Saturday
l At 5:34 a.m., a male reported a domestic dispute on South Rock Island Street. An officer advised that one female subject was placed into protective custody at the Quay County Detention Center for suicidal threats.
l At 10:46 p.m., a male reported an open door at a residence on South Seventh Street. An officer advised that all was OK and that the residence was vacant and the door was secured.
l At 3:30 p.m., a male reported a domestic dispute on East Rankin Street. An officer advised that the living room of the residence had been torn up but the second party involved did not want to press charges.

Sunday
l At 1:28 a.m., a male reported a domestic dispute on West Turner Street. An officer advised that all was OK and that the parties had separated for the night.
l At 6:59 a.m., an alarm was reported at a retail store on West Route 66. An officer advised that the building was secure. The alarm was reset by the manager.
l At 12:37 p.m., a dispatcher reported a 911-hang up call from a fuel station on South First Street. An officer advised that there was pay phone outside of the business that was off the hook. The officer checked the area and advised that all was OK.

Monday
l At 1:02 a.m., a female reported harassment at a restaurant on East Route 66. The female told officers that former employees were harassing the current employees. The officer made contact with the subjects and advised them to leave and not return.
l At 1:27 a.m., an officer served a warrant at a fuel station on South First Street. One male subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center for an outstanding Magistrate Court warrant.
