Community Notes: Cheerleaders attend Dance Day, Brisket sales to benefit fair, Business fair set for Mosquero

Fairboard brisket sale on now
Just in time for Easter, the Quay County Fairboard will be cooking up their annual brisket fare. Only 150 briskets will be available so they will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Precooked weight will be about 10 pounds. Briskets will be $40 each. Briskets should be picked up between noon and 5 p.m. on March 21 at the Quay County Fairgrounds. To reserve your brisket call Nick at Holiday Tire at 461-1184. Proceeds will be used to cover expenses for the 2008 Quay County Fair. Deadline to reserve a brisket is March 10.

Cheerleaders attend Dance Day
Tucumcari High School varsity cheerleaders, Misty McKinney and Desirae Evans, were invited to attend the New Mexico State University High School Dance Day on Feb. 23 in Las Cruces. At the one-day workshop, McKinney and Evans participated in classes in West Coast swing, hip-hop, flamenco and modern dance and jazz.

Business Fair set for April 10 in Mosquero
A Business Fair showcasing booths from local and area businesses and in conjuction with the Youth Entrepreneur Fair at Mosquero School will be April 10. Jointly hosted by Roy and Mosquero schools, the event is open to all businesses and marketable products from Colfax, Harding, Quay and Union counties
