03-15-2008: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:

l At 10:19 a.m., a female reported a gas skip from a fuel station on South First Street. An officer advised that all was OK and that the driver had returned and paid for the gas.
l At 2:10 p.m., several callers reported an electric fire on East Main Street. A fire official advised that it was fire on a power pole and that the fire was contained. Electrical equipment had sparked a small fire.
l At 3:14 p.m., a male reported a suspicious subject on South Sixth Street. An officer was told that the male subject was walking from door to door. The officer advised that all was OK. The male subject was a salesman.
l At 3:20 p.m., a male went into the police department on East Center Street to report identity theft. An officer was told that the male subject received a letter from the IRS stating someone had used his social security number.
