Swimming classes open
There are still openings in swimming classes in the second session which is being offered from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. and 10 a.m.-11 a.m. on the weekdays from June 23-July 3, said Kim Garcia, pool manager. For more information, call Kim Garcia at 461-4582.

Scout your own fields for insects
First-hand experience in scouting your fields for harmful insects will be offered at the Alfalfa/Forage Pests Scout School at 9 a.m. to noon on June 20.
Mark Muegge, Texas cooperative extension entomologist specialist, and Leonard Lauriault, NMSU College associate professor and forage agronomist, will be the guest speakers.
The school will assist farmers in learning what timing methods to use with certain pests and what products are available for control.
