09-27-08: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department.

Tuesday
l At 8:50 a.m., a male reported that someone had broken into his truck and removed his GPS after he moved his truck from a fuel island on south Mountain Road.
l At 9:24 a.m., a physician called to request that Animal Control pick up a pit bull that had bitten a patient. Animal Control advised that the owner of the dog would bring the dog into the kennel to be quarantined.
l At 10:11 a.m., a veterinarian requested the Quay County Sheriff’s Department send a deputy to Quay Road 64.9 to pick up a skunk, or possibly two skunks, that had been killed by a dog. The State Epidemiology Department was requesting the head be sent to them for testing.
l At 10:56 a.m., an anonymous caller reported that people were burning tires in front of her house on east Smith Street and had broken her windshield with a rock.
