The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department.
l At 12:33 a.m., an anonymous caller reported a drunk driver eastbound on Interstate 40. An officer advised that the driver had been on the road for 12 hours straight and was sleepy. The driver said he would take a nap before getting back on the road.
l At 12:35 a.m., a female came to the Tucumcari Police Department to report a fight that occurred on east High Street.
l At 9:30 a.m., a female came to the Tucumcari Police Department to report a loud vehicle that was driving fast on Jackson Street at night.
l At 10:40 a.m., a female reported that a dog was in her neighbor’s yard on east Center Street and the owners had not been there for a week or more.
l At 11:55 a.m., a female requested removal of an unwanted male subject from her apartment on Sunset Road.
l At 1:59 p.m., a female reported that a customer’s camcorder had been stolen from the front counter lock box of a motel on east Tucumcari Boulevard.
l At 4:06 p.m., a male requested officers to remove his girlfriend from his home on south Fourth Street. An officer advised that it was a breakup that was not going as planned.
l At 1:38 p.m., a male reported to the Quay County Sheriff’s Office that his vehicle had been shot at on east Route 66. An officer advised that there was one bullet in the trailer and others lodged somewhere outside the trailer.
l At 12:26 a.m., a female reported she thought someone was trying to get into her house on south Second Street.
l At 7:47 a.m., a female reported that someone had broken into a business on east Tucumcari Boulevard.
l At 2:00 p.m., an anonymous caller reported that two male drivers were drag racing on Route 66 Boulevard.
l At 9:15 a.m., an anonymous caller reported that a man had fallen on east Turner Street and requested that an officer see if the man was OK.
l At 9:53 a.m., a female reported an accident with injuries at the intersection of Main and Lake streets.
l At 6:51 p.m., an anonymous caller reported a possible drunk driver traveling east on Tucumcari Boulevard. The caller said the driver was driving on the sidewalks.
l At 11:54 p.m., an anonymous caller reported a fire on west Sunset Road.
l At 8:57 a.m., a female reported that dog had been without water or food at Dawson and Center streets and it had been days.
l At 7:29 p.m., a female called for an officer because a male subject was causing problems on east Rankin Avenue.
l At 2:16 p.m., an anonymous caller reported damage to property. A Quay County Sheriff’s officer advised windows had been broken with shots from an unknown object.
