12-02-2008: Fishing Report

This fishing report has been generated from the best information available from officers and anglers. Conditions encountered after the report is compiled may differ, however, as stream, lake and weather conditions alter fish and angler activities.

Conchas Lake
Fishing was slow-to-fair using tubes, spoons and worms off main lake points for smallmouth bass. The bass were in 16-to-20 feet of water. We had no reports on other species.

Ute Lake
Fishing continued to be quite good this past week for white bass and walleye action was picking up. Best baits were slab spoons and jigs worked at 25-to-35 feet on the main lake. Anglers jigging for bass also caught a few catfish. We had no reports on other species.

Ute Lake
On Nov. 28, Joe Ellis of Logan caught a 7.17-pound walleye. He was using a jigging spoon and fishing on the main lake.
On Nov. 29, Calvin Liles of Logan caught a 9.5-pound walleye. He was using a jigging spoon.
