12-31-2008: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department.

Friday
l At 10:17 a.m., a male reported to the Logan Police Department that someone had stolen a lighted reindeer from his yard at a trailer park in Logan.
l At 12:48 p.m., a male reported that a clock had been stolen from a garage on Apple Stret.
l At 1:13 p.m., a male reported that a trash truck had hit the guy wire on his power pole. When the truck pulled the wire out, it shut off the power to his residence on south Adams Street. An officer advised that the power had been restored and no damage was done to the pole.
l At 1:15 p.m., a female reported that a male subject was beating up her mother in the back yard of a residence on south Second Street. An officer advised that the male subject was being charged with aggravated battery, criminal damage to property and resisting arrest.
l At 2:44 p.m., a male reported that a dog keeps jumping the fence into the caller’s yard on south Jackson Street.
Saturday
l At 1:55 a.m., a female called from a neighbor’s house on south Tenth Street to report that her husband called her and told her that he was going to come over to the house and beat her up and he didn’t care if he goes to jail. An officer advised that a special watch would be put on the house tonight and her husband would be contacted and advised to stop calling her.
l At 6:46 p.m., a female requested an officer to come to a business on Mountain Road in reference to an employee who refused to leave.
l At 9 p.m., a female called from a business on east Estrella Avenue to request an officer to give her and her husband a ride to the hospital. The couple was not feeling well and was on a tour bus and had no way to get to the hospital.

Sunday
l At 9:29 a.m., a female reported that someone had broken into her vehicle last night on south Fourth Street and had taken her stereo and a toolbox out of the trunk of her car.
l At 9:33 a.m., a female reported an irate customer at a business on west Tucumcari Boulevard.
