Gov. Bill Richardson will be in Tucumcari Thursday for a pre-groundbreaking rally for the new Tucumcari High School at the Tucumcari High School Auditorium, school officials said.
Students, school staff and members of the Tucumcari Board of Education will participate and the public is invited to attend, according to a release.
Richardson’s visit is part of a six-city, two-day tour across the state to discuss legislative priorities, according to a press release from his office.
The governor will talk about his plan for a fiscally responsible budget and unveil his public safety and education agendas, the release said.
Before arriving in Tucumcari on Thursday, the governor is scheduled to visit Hobbs and Clovis.
Groundbreaking activities include:
l 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Gov. Bill Richardson at pre-groundbreaking rally at the Tucucmari High School Auditorium.
l 10 a.m., Friday, groundbreaking ceremonies at the Tucumcari High School.
