U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Lujan (D-N.M.) announced today that Ron Wilmot will head up his Tucumcari office.
Lujan has said that his representative in Tucumcari would serve his constituency on the eastern side of the state in the 3rd District. Those areas include Union, Quay, Curry and Roosevelt counties and Cannon Air Force Base, Wilmot said.
Lujan made the announcement during a visit today in Tucumcari, where he joined Lt. Gov. Diane Denish who made a presentation on grants that are available to rural communities through the federal stimulus package at the Tucumcari Senior Center.
Wilmot, who is currently director of the Tucumcari Convention Center, said he had resigned, effective April 24.
Wilmot has been director since 2001.
Lujan said that Wilmot’s offices will be in the Tucumcari Chamber of Commerce building.
Wilmot said he will begin work on April 27.
The congressman also has offices in Santa Fe, Rio Rancho and Farmington.
