Fishing was slow for all species. A few smallmouth bass and largemouth bass were taken by anglers using tubes and senkos.
Walleye fishing was very good this past weekend as several anglers reported catching limits. Best baits were minnows, crank baits and jerk baits fished in 5-to-15 feet of water. Fishing was good using chatter baits, tubes, senkos, robo worms, crank baits and jerk baits for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Fishing was good using minnows and jigs for crappie and a few white bass. Fishing was fair-to-good using stink bait and cut bait for catfish. Surface water temps ranged from 49-to-55 degrees.
Catches of the week
On April 18, Chris Bosley of Amarillo caught a 6.13-pound largemouth bass. He was using a craw.
On April 19, Terry Scarafiotti of Nogal caught a 5.88-pound largemouth bass.
