Numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue developing across the Eastern Plains, including Tucumcari, through 6 p.m., according to a 3:57 p.m. short-term forecast from the National Weather Service in Albuquerque.
“The strongest storms will contain pea to dime-sized hail. Gusty winds up to 45 mph.,” the forecast said.
There will also be “heavy downpours and dangerous cloud to ground lighting,” the forecast stated.
Areas that may be affected include Las Vegas southeast to Santa Rosa, including Tucumcari and Quay County.
