City Commission set for budget work session on Monday
The Tucumcari City Commission will hold a special workshop at 5 p.m. on Monday to discuss its budget.

On Tuesday, the commission will hold a regular meeting, where budget items may be discussed.

According to the agenda, the city looking to approve on Tuesday a first reading regarding water and sewer use. At the city’s last work session on Monday, commissioners discussed a 15 percent increase in water rates.

Arch Hurley to enter into mediation on
Vernon case
The Arch Hurley Consevancy District will be attending a court mediation session in San Miguel County later this month.
Arch Hurley sued Skip Veron for reimbursement and disposal of liner materials for a pond that it had it had warehoused. Vernon countersued.
Now the matter has been sent to court appointed mediation on June 24 at the San Miguel County Magistrate Court.

July 25: Day of the American Cowboy
A resolution cosponsored by U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman, designating July 25 as the day to recognize the “American Cowboy,” has passed the Senate, according to a press release.
The Senate resolution acknowledges the role of ranchers in the development of the West.
