A Tucumcari man will face an attempted murder charge in connection with a June 1 shooting at Redwood Lodge, a state prosecutor told court officials on Monday.
The defense attorney for Robert W. Wynashe asked that his client’s pre-trial hearing scheduled Monday be postponed so he’ll have time to defend against the amended charge.
Magistrate Judge Joel Garnett rescheduled the pre-trial hearing for 9 a.m. July 29.
Wynashe faced felony charges of aggravated battery and shooting at a motor vehicle when he was arrested June 1. He’s being held on $1 million bond at the Quay County Detention Center.
Wynashe, 66, is charged with shooting Howard Russell King, 45, at the Redwood Lodge.
