The Tucumcari City Commission approved a $13 million budget for the 2009-2010 fiscal year at a special meeting Thursday night at City Hall.
“This does not include all of the funds from capital improvement projects,” said Marty Garcia, the city’s finance officer. “Those amounts will be added in later.”
Garcia said once the budget amendments to include the capital improvement projects are made, the budget will be about the same as last year’s budget of $21.8 million.
Commissioners also approved a resolution regarding the submission of an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Application for $400,000.
The money would be used for water system improvements, including the installation of a transmission line and drilling of a new water well, said Doug Powers, director of the city’s Community Development Department.
