Area lake reports

Conchas Lake: Fishing was fair using soft plastics, crank baits and top water lures for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Most of the bass were small. Fishing at night was good using liver, cut bait, shrimp and minnows for catfish. Fishing was fair using worms and poppers for bluegill. Fishing for white bass was slow-to-fair trolling crank baits. We had no reports on other species.

Ute Lake: Fishing was slow-to-fair trolling crank baits for white bass. Fishing was good using worms and night crawlers for bluegill. Fishing was good on rod and reel and on trotlines using cut bait for catfish. A few smallmouth bass were caught by anglers using drop shot rigs, tubes and grubs. We had no reports on other species. The lake level rose over the past week and seemed to have scattered the fish.
