Tucumcari High School has a new acting principal, while former principal David Castillo is still on paid administrative leave for allegations of administrative misconduct.
Jack Burch, a former superintendent of Elida Schools, started Monday as the acting principal, at Tucumcari High School, said Assistant Superintendent Dennis Roch on Tuesday.
“Burch brings several years of educational experience and leadership to Tucumcari Schools,” Roch said.
Castillo was placed on paid leave on Nov. 11, 2009.
“Mr. Castillo is still on paid administrative leave,” Roch said.
Roch declined to comment futher on Castillo or give a reason for Castillo’s administrative leave.
