Press release: Rep. Roch proposes greater role for landowners in renewable energy

Freedom New Mexico

SANTA FE – State Representative Dennis Roch (R-Tucumcari) introduced House Bill 104 this week in an effort to increase the input of landowners in the renewable energy industry.

“With the construction of wind turbines and transmission lines on private property,” said Roch, “it is vital that landowners have a voice in the planning and design of renewable energy transmission projects.”

House Bill 104 would increase the membership of the Renewable Energy Transmission Authority (RETA) board from seven to nine members, with the additional two members required to be landowners from areas where renewable energy is being generated.
