Tucumcari High School’s former principal David Castillo is still on paid administrative leave, according to school officials.
“The situation has not changed,” said Assistant Superintendent Dennis Roch, on Monday.
An executive session was canceled and removed from Monday night’s meeting of the Tucumcari Public Schools Board of Education.
The session was to be held to discuss a limited personnel matter, specifically employment options and leave status of a public employee.
Castillo was placed on paid leave on Nov. 11, 2009, for allegations of administrative misconduct.
Roch declined to comment further on Castillo or give a reason for Castillo’s administrative leave.
Roch said Jack Burch, a former superintendent of Elida Schools, is now serving as principal.
