4-H contest results

Novice and junior Quay County 4-Hers competed in a variety of county contests on May 20 – May 28 to qualify for district said Quay County Extension Home Economist, Brenda Bishop.

“These contests are the qualifying events for district and state competitions,” Bishop said.

Bishop said novice 4-Hers are 9 to 11 years old and junior 4-Hers are 12-13. years old.

Senior members of 4-H are 14 and older and will be competing in July at state contests at Las Cruces.

The cloverbuds received a first in all of their competitions.

Tianna Peterson competed in Favorite Food Show, Poetry, Horticulture, Home Ec Skill-a-thon, Consumer, Wildlife

Kindal Smith competed in Livestock Judging, Horse Judging, Poetry, Livestock Skill-a-thon, Natalie Hayes competed in Home Ec Skill-a-thon

Cloverbud 4-Hers are under 9 years old and do not move on to a contest.

The novice and junior members competed on June 16 and 17 at district contests at Fort Sumner.
