Quay 4-Hers take top awards in district horse show

Two Quay County 4-Hers took top awards at the Southeast District 4-H Horse Show

The Southeast District 4-H Horse Show was held in Capitan on Saturday. Three 4-Hers showed their Horsemanship Skills at this regional event.

In the Novice division Brook Valentine was third overall, placing first in Showmanship at Halter, third in Hunter under saddle, second in Western Pleasure, third in Western Horsemanship, and third in the poles.

In the Junior division Brea Valentine was high point individual placing first in Showmanship at Halter, first in Hunter Under Saddle, second in English Equitation, second in Hunter Hack, first in Western Pleasure, first in Western Horsemanship, first in Trail, second in Reining, and second in Poles.

In the Senior division Desirae Evans was the high point individual placing first in Showmanship at Halter, second in Hunter Under Saddle, second in Hunt Seat Equitation, second in Western Pleasure, first in Western Horsemanship, first in Trail, first in Reining, third in Barrels, and second in Poles.

Brea and Desirae were awarded belt buckles for their achievement of being high point individuals. Come out and watch these girls compete in the 2010 State 4-H Horse Show to be held here in Tucumcari July 23 and 24 at 7 a.m.
