Shots fired in Tucumcari

Tucumcari police were investigating a shooting that occurred about 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of East High Street.

Witnesses said no one was injured.

Police were not immediately available for comment.

Teresa Romero said she and her family heard several shots, and when they looked outside she saw her son, Mikey Romero, had parked his car in front of their home. She said she saw several bullet holes in the driver’s side door of the Toyota where her son had been sitting with his girlfriend.

Teresa Romero said she called the police after her son told her someone had shot at him.

She declined to identify individuals she believes were involved in the shooting.
